Val is a qualified Landscape Designer based in Auckland. She has been practicing for 5 years. Since completing her Diploma of Landscape Design at Unitec in 2014, as well as providing her own clients with stunning gardens, she has contracted to Palmers Gardenworld Remuera, providing their Client base with on site design consultations, concept designs and planting plans. Val believes the knowledge and experience she has gained from working with the Palmers team has been invaluable.

Her varied designs and installed gardens range from schools, restaurants, urban and rural gardens, small courtyards through to large complexes. Prior to designing, Val was maintaining gardens in Auckland for 5 years. Her plant and gardening knowledge is extensive.

She loves nothing better, than seeing a design through from the initial consultation stage, to when the last plant goes in. Watching the Client’s delight upon completion is just so rewarding. A well designed space incorporates hardscaping and plants as elements within the design, to create visual interest. 

Gardens are required to be, functional and unique, the scene must have the ability to change through the seasons and have room to mature over the years. Environmental conditions have to be taken into consideration, ensuring the level of care the plant needs is met, “Right plant / right place".
