Nick was responsible for the planting design on this project. Nick is a landscape architect and garden designer with twenty years’ experience in designing, creating and managing private and public gardens in New Zealand and the UK. He is also a design teacher and lecturer and author of the Planting Design Handbook (published by Routledge), along with many articles on design and planting. A special interest is creating beautiful and bio-diverse gardens for plants and wildlife as well as in the wider environment. Nick's gardens are pollinator–paradises, providing foraging and shelter for the many beneficial insects that visit gardens. (Photo on his website)
John Dowsett
The garden construction was designed and installed by the owner of the property, John Dowsett, who is a qualified landscape architect. John was also responsible for the design of the house.
John and Nick have collaborated on a number of projects including Butterfly Creek at Auckland Airport, Bay of Plenty Regional Council projects and residential gardens.
