My clients found me online on ‘Homes to Love’ and wanted instant and complete privacy in their backyard using subtropical plants. They wanted to feel like they were in a resort when they looked out of their bedroom window every morning. I used corten steel screens and large specimen palms to create an instant resort-like garden. We created three deep planting beds, keptan existing avocado tree which produces an abundance of fruit and mass-planted four layers of subtropical plants with a mixture of leaf shape, size and colour to create a jungle feel. Another corten steel screen created an ‘envelope’ around the outdoor dining space. Wires and climbing plants completed this ‘Lush Tropical Haven’ which my clients love! A refresh of plants created a modern yet formal pretty front garden incorporating edible, flowering and subtropical plants.

This garden is just over one year old but because of the large sized plants we planted, the garden looks much more established.
